At 45,000 and a bit kilometers (about 28,000 miles) I am noticing some oil residue around the little ledge by the head gasket, evenly spaced, pretty well all the way around (maybe slightly more on left side) not much more than dirty smudges but there nevertheless. Should I be concerned or is this gasket seeping normal at this point in time? (2 years old, 95% highway driving, maybe 15-20% under a full load, Rotella dino 15-40)

Its probably the lower valve cover gasket ive replaced a few of them

Same here, I don't think it's a huge concern. I'm just waiting until my list of things to be looked at gets a little bigger, take the truck in and they have everything dealt with.
