HD Headlight Harness
Is anyone using one of these harnesses?
I decided to get one from LMC and am wondering if I made the right choice. After installing it how I think it should go, I turned on the lights and everything seemed to work fine. I waited till dark and took it out for a test drive, and the lights appear brighter for the short ride I took. But, while driving I flipped on the brights, and they are alot better, but when going back to dim, the brights stay on, the dims and fogs also come on when going back to dim. Here is where I can't figure it out, if I turn off my fog lights everything works fine, but when the fog lights are on, the lights will not come off bright , when I put them on dim everything comes on. I still have the stock style bulbs and headlights, and this is the harness I got http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/de/full.aspx?Page=46
Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions?
Thanks for any and all help

I'm no expert but the, listing says not for use with daytime running lights probably because of interference between the relays. Is it possible that the fog light relay is causing similar interference? try pulling the fog relay and see what happens?

as above if you have DRL - just unplug the DRL module under the hood on the drivers fender.
if i were you (since you already bought it) i would use it as a template and make your own harness out of some heavy gauge wire and better relays. i had the lmc harness too, it worked ok, but it was cheap quality. some guys have had troubles with the relays, whereas others have had no problems at all.
IF you take my advice and make a new harness, i would first do some research and while you make it, you might as well make provisions to do a sport light upgrade and build the harness accordingly.
i initially tried the harness you have and it worked ok. i added the one piece headlights from ebay and it got brighter but the beam pattern was kinda' scattered. i then put a diode in the unused stock connector to one-way jump the brights with the lows - got really bright but i ended up blowing a bulb in one of the housings.
after all that, i then did it right and proceeded to do a sport light upgrade with a home-built HD harness. this by far has been way better than any of the above i tried previous. a lot more expensive, but worth it. if i knew now what i did when i first started modding the lights - i would have gone straight to the sport light upgrade.

Well mine doesn't have the day time running lights, just fog lights, and when they are turned off on the switch everything works perfect, but when the fog lights are turned on and I go to bright, the brights stay on when the dims come back on. I tried a few things yesterday and nothing worked. I may end up going back to the stock set up for a lil while till I can make something new.
