Hazard/Turn Signal Relay

I just got off the phone with Mr. Billy *** at Trico who makes aftermarket flashers and he said that there was a typo in the 2002 catalog which is why NAPA and Autozone keep coming up with 2/3 pin flashers for our 5 pin application. He said that the new catalog that is coming out in 90 days has that correction so that problem should go away.

The correct part number is EP27. He also said that for those of you that have put on LED's that the new EP27 works with them so that if they go out it does change the speed of the flash and that no resistor is necessary. He also said that many customers have said that using relays for the trailer lights is ok but it will not indicate if a bulb is out on the trailer and that there is a lag on the blink between the truck lights/dash and the trailer as it has to energize the relay to the trailer and then heat the bulb so it is a noticeable lag. The box of the new EP27 will say for LED's. That is the way to distinguish between the old EP27 that did not work with LED's and the new one that does. Joe
