Who has installed arp head stud kit on 12 vavle

Just spent a whopping 425.00 for set of arp head studs ( more than i think i paid for my 472 hemi ) anyway who here has installed a set. Cant believe i have to mill .200 off the rocker ped. Seems like a thicker valve cover gaskit would be the ticket

You can grind the webbing out of the valve covers to clear the nut. But the stud won't have as much engagement in the block as designed that way. Just get the rocker pedestals milled. Should be quick and cheap for a shop to do.

Thanks , I have a mill in my shop just cant beleive ARP makes you do this . It just seems like a thicker gasket would do the trick . Anyone make taller valve covers ?

Not that don't cost you $100 each. Machining can't be that bad.

After comparing orig V-ped bolt length to the new stud from ARP , wouldnt have made sense for ARP to just make a slightly shorter stud to avoid any machining? I'm thinking about rather than milling my Valve -ped is simply knocking an 1/8 off off broached end of stud . Has anyone done this and if I need to remove stud simply double nut it .

Its not the stud that causes the issue (if installed properly). The nut and washer height will interfere with valve cover. IIRC, the stud is **** near flush with the nut on mine.
