Hard starting
i am haveing issues and im hopeing some one can help. i have an 03 ram cummins with 137000 miles and it has been hard staring since i bought it. i put a new lift pump from bd in it and a pure power stainless fuel filter in it. when i clean the fuel filter it starts great, but after a couple hundred miles its like its plugged again. when i clean it i get black stuff out of it then its fine. its starts better when its cold. once its started it has grat power, not white smoke and lots of power, fuel milage has been around 20 so im not sure. i was wondering if there could be something in my tank? is there a sock on the pick up tube that could need replaced? does anyone have an idea or heard of this? im about at my whits end with it. also was thinking possible the fuel control actuator. not sure where to go with it. it also starts alot better if you just turn the key over and not let the intake heaters run.
Thanks
Jason
