reflash

Your dealer has an up-date for the ecm to correct that issue.

Yep, there's a TSB for it. I had mine done not too long ago. It hardly ever long-cranks now; it was doing it all the time before I had it flashed.

Mine will still do this about 2 times a week now. I hate it because it only seems to do it when there are people around and they just look and stare!!!! I want this completely fixed soon !

Thanks,

Glad you posted this one. . .I also have a new 06 CDT and I have found that in the past month or so since I bought it the same thing has happened 3 or 4 times. Looks like when I take it up to adjust the computer for the bigger tires we can take care of this too.

Thanks,

Yes, the 06 that I purchased last week has already done it too.
The truck has less than 1000 miles on it.
I will probably wait until my first service to have the problem addressed.

I wrote down the TSB number from elsewhere on this forum just in case.

I have had the TSB and all it did was make the truck slower and get a little better mileage. The cranking problem is still there!

Mine does this as well. i guess i have just gotten used to it waiting for them to come out with an actual fix. if it dont fire in a couple of turns, i let off the starter wait a sec and hit it again. it always fires up second try. I heard the TSB that is supposed to fix this also raises the idle to about 850, that is why i havent done it. not sure if that is true or not.
