Hard start in morning

I have a 99 2500 24 valve, 5spd, longbed, 100K, when i go and start the truck in the morning, the engine turns over for 15 seconds before stating. Pluging it in does not help. The truck starts fine when it is warm. I seems to have problems when it has sat for longer than 4 hours or more. Sometimes (1 out of 5 times) it will start right up when is cold. I just bougth this truck, the old owner had a new injector pump put in it. I held a test light to the intake heater an it was fine. ANY IDEAS? Could the injection pump not be timed right? If anyone has any idas i would really be greatful. thank you

What is your fuel presure at?? Maybe check your fuel filter. It sounds like a fuel problem to me.

Not sure on the pressure. Someone else said the same thing. That will be the first thing i will check. The filter is new i think it was put in with the injector pump. Thanks for the info.

could be air intrusion also, sometimes you can get air in without fuel leaking out

The lift pump can still sound like it's running without pumping anything. The only way to tell for sure is to test the pressure.

I have been reading all the old "fuel pressue gauges" stories, an i cant find a common brand that works well for a 1999 24v, I want to order one asap. I am also looking to redo my transfer pump system, any good after market pumps, thanks for all the help !!
