hard pull to right side

just started pretty bad in the last couple days, you let go and in about 50 feet your in the ditch. i got a "pop" in my steering when i am setting still running and turn the wheel left and right lock to lock, i can feel it through the floor board, all the suspension and tires and everything looks ok, i am putting my new wheels on tomorrow so i will take a closer look. think it needs a steering shaft?? what does the borgeson shaft run?? is it worth it?? i might just make my own or something, i will find out tomorrow though.

I would make sure your box is still tight up against frame and check for cracks around box also .If everything looks ok then I would look at allinement or maybe even a bent wheel or loose tierod ?

i cant see the steering box all of a sudden coming loose along with the frame cracking but that could cause the "pop" sound, or the bent wheel, i havent hit anything, and it started all of a sudden, like someone flipped a switch, tie rods look ok but im going to dig into it good tomorrow. truck has never been abused, it never pulled anything til my dad got it, and that was a bobcat like 3 or 4 times.

If all the steering components are tight it could be kingpins are worn, kingpin bushings or kingpin springs. I replaced my kingpin bushing a while back and one of them had spun 30 degrees or so. I need to tear it all down and look at the lower bearings on the knuckle also. To check the upper part just remove the 4 bolts on the top of the knuckle with weight off the wheel. not that difficult to do but lots of grease in there.

It's probably a combination of things, but I would rotate the tires and see if there is any change.

i have the same problem with my 93 and its the bottom bolt that connects the steering box to a plate that connects to the frame. have somebody crank the wheel and watch the steering box.
