Wow thats bad(for chevy). I cant balive you dident have more damage after looking at his. I had deal like that(or my truck did) years ago. I let a budie borow my GMC Sonoma to go to work one nite cause I had his car in the shop at tech school working on it. He left 20 minutes before my room mate and I did to go to work. Abought 3 blocks from our appartment I see a Lumina with the entire passanger side caved in abought 2 feet. The cops where on scene and I comented to my room mate that i would hate to see the front of what ever vehicle hit that car. Just then I see my budie standing there talking to the cops. I wondered why he was there and not at work. As we were driving by my budie seen me and waved us into the parking lot where they moved the accident to. I still haddent figured it out. As we were parking I realized what was going on. I walked over and he started apologizing for "wrecking" my truck. My heart sank as I stood there looking at the car he hit. It was totaled big time. We walked over to my truck from the rear and as I walked around to the front I was expecting to see it all smashed to oblivion. I had to look to find anything wrong. It broke my headlight and cracked the plastic grill. Other than a few scuffs in the painted bumper that was all that was wrong. Luckaly everyone was ok and it was her fault for pulling out in front of him. Amazing how offset the accidents can be.

I was at a dead stop with a 78 3/4T chev van and a full size car rear ended me (79 cordoba) doing 50 mph. The front of her car was smashed back to the windshield and I had to find a junkyard rear door, hammer out a dent in the quarter panel and weld a puncture in the gas tank. DON't rear end a van! That corragated floor board is STRONG. Craig

How did you know it hit? You feel an irregular bump at idle?

Glad it wasn't worse, for both involved.

The Chevy looks like its smiling. But I can't razz that guy too hard. My friend driving my 94 Chey rear ended e driving my dad's '99 Ram. Can't even remember where in the world we were going. My Chevy needed a new rad, cowl, fan, hoses, oil cooler, fender reworked, bumper and grill. The Ram? Slight bent rear panel and a slightly tilted bumper.

Think I'll pour a concrete floor in my 1 ton. Which way should I place the re-bar?

Mmmm.... Nope.

He hit me square on. He was going at least 15-20MPH.

He was braking hard, the front of his truck dipped down and his hood hit my trailer hitch. Go look at the pics again.

I don't think that Cheby is totaled it shoud buff out ok.

I had a mini van from a medical patient transport co. rear end my dually. the driver turned around to look at his patient when we got stopped in bumper to bumper morning traffic. One second we were traveling at 60mph & stopped the next. I guess he learned you can't take your eyes off the road for a second.
My truck it broke off the dodge emblem in the reciever hitch. His mini van totaled the front end.

I went back, again. I circled what looks like the strike on the hitch. If that's what you're referring to I'm certain you'll find he something before he hit you. Judging by the way the left corner of the bumper is pushed up and behind the plastic that hit your truck, the horizontal crease along the hood of the Chevy along with the semi-circle indentation about center of the hood and the lack of additional sheet metal damage to your ride I'm certain he tangled with something before he got to you, probably the barrier wall. I'd be glad it happened that way. A 15 mph impact would have done a considerable amount of damage to your ride and based on the pictures you posted here it's way too straight and pretty.

It was the Stillers sticker that did it. I don't think he even touched your bumper!!

Dude. I watched it all happen in my rearview mirror. He hit my truck SQUARE HEAD ON. VERY HARD!

Your senerio suggests he slide into the wall and careened into the back of my truck. Answer this if you will. "IF" that did happen (as you suggest), how in the world did he line up EXACTLY behind me and not at an angle ?

BTW, There actually was a small amount of damage to the Right rear area behind my bumper. There was a small dent where the bumper was forced into the area below the taillight.

The damage to my bumper and the part of the bed was just over $1000. That was NOT my Estimate but one from the State Farm Insurance drive-true Claim center.

He very well may have hit something (causing that mark on his bumper) BEFORE hitting my truck, but rest assured it was NOT during this accident.

Sorry if you don't believe me but it's the truth.

BTW, do you know what that red fluid is on the ground under his truck ? It's a mixture of his truck's cooland AND transmission fluid.

OK, $1000 damage, now it sounds more like it. Since he hit you a little off center, did the bed get into the cab?
