Hankooks Dynapros 285/70R17

It was time for new tires after 50,000 miles of towing in 2 years. I needed a good aggressive tread without being a mud terrain.

I needed a load range E to handle the weight towing, and I wanted to go up a size (stock is 265/70) for a more aggressive look and lower RPMs.

After alot of research , I chose the Hankook Dynapro ATs in 285/70 R17. They have a load rating of 3750 per tire. Thats 500lbs more then the tires they replaced. My intial impressions are great. Quiet, responsive and should do well in all types of weather. Time will tell, but so far I am loving them @ $157 delivered from Discount Tire.

Here are some pics.

Similar to the Toyo/Nitto Opencounty/Terragrappler which I loved but got horrible mileage.

Side Shot.

3/4 shot.. That inferno red cleans up nice.

All washed up after 5 weekends on the road towing .

Pretty much My life described in two words.

I was looking at swapping out my BFG 285s to go back to an E.
I was thinking about the Durra grappler, but I may have to check these out.

From what I understand,

Those tires...A/T & M/T's...were built to be direct competition with Toyo's.

I like the price!!!

Regarding the lower RPMs, how much lower are they? I have the 3.73 gearing and don't really want to lower it much more.

Also, do they offer a 265/70/17?

Just got mine in yesterday, cant wait to put them on. They have been on back order for a few weeks and the week after i orderd them the price went up they are now $175. but still you cant beat the price when the specs are the same as the Toyo's including the warrenty.

Those are pretty nice looking tires. They look more aggressive that Toyo OC AT's, and are a good bit cheaper. They look like they would be great in all weather and even decent in light mud. Plus, having the warranty on them makes them that much better. I have 285/75 Toyo's right now and will probably step back down to 285/70's next time around. Not because it hurt towing, but because the extra height makes the 5th wheel not ride level. Scotty

I also just put these tires on. I love them so far. they are working great in mud and snow on a hunting trip I am on and they were quiet on the long highway trip.
