Will this hand throttle work?
It has been getting really cold and I want to install a hand throttle. This one mounts on the stick, would this work in my 98 12 valve?

Sure, that should work. You can go to any tractor supply store and get a throttle cable pretty cheap. I installed a cable to the fuel pedal linkage using a bead chain to give slack. Worked great, and I didn't have to go through the firewall.

What do you mean by bead chain? So you could mount a thumb throttle on the stick then run the cable to the gas petal?

Yes. Fasten the bead chain to the linkage with enough slack so that the linkage can move, but when you pull the throttle cable, you are able to overcome the slack and pull the linkage.
It is simpler to understand if you look at the linkage at the pedal.
