haisley street puller double disc clutch??

my friend has a street puller double disc clutch by haisley. He's wanting 1400 for it it's brand new in the box. is this a good deal that I should jump on or should I just go with the velair single disc?? I"m in school and don't really have the money but want to get it if it's that good of a deal.

If you dont get it, let me know

Thats a prety good deal on one heck of a clutch. I plan on getting one when the fundage permits. They shift fast and hold a lot of power. You may be disapointed in the Valair single if you want to horse around. Boosted launches are a no-no.

No comparison between the two, avoid the cheap junk when it comes to a clutch

How would you compare Haisley to a SBC 3250DD ? For towing and driveability.

And what if Crazy Larry gets behind the wheel?

BTW, I just purchased a SBC but have not installed it yet.

Valair doubles are solid hubs. When you dump the clutch something has to give, usually the springs. Some guys will argue which is better but most will agree for daily driving a sprung hub is the way to go. Without it there is no give in your driveline.

A Haisley Street Drag has lighter discs which have less rotating mass. The reason South Bends shift slower (in my experience) is due to the heaver discs creating a lot more mass for the synchro to speed up or slow down.

What I recomend to guys is this: If you sled pull, go South Bend. If you drag race, Haisley Street Drag. If you dont fit into either category you could not go wrong with either. IMHO

I just checked... $1145 (they have the wrong pic up )

That is one heck of a deal. South Bend rates their clutches very low and I would not fear throwing 650 to that thing. Good Ol' Lary put a great price on that one.

haisley makes a KILLER sled pulling clutch aswell...and thats what the street puller is more geared for then draging...the street drag is the drag racing clutch.
