Angry Hail storm demolished my Truck!!!!!!!

I was outside doing yard work when I got home from work today & it started looking cloudy. I went inside & started hearing the rain hitting my skylights of my home. To my surprise, it was Hail the size of golfballs. I look outside & see it hitting my truck, now I'm mad!!!!!!!!!!!! When the storm was over, I had about 1000 golfball size dents in my truck. I hope my insurance covers it.

Sorry to hear about your truck, but I am glad that the damage wasn't to you or one of your loved ones

Thanks. It got so bad that My wife & I took our 11 1/2 month old son & went to the basement. I looked out the window to check on our horse & it was going crazy. We came upstairs when we heard the hail start to let up & that is when I noticed my truck. When the storm was over, my brother called me & said that it got his 04.5 CTD & his wifes new Honda CRV. All 3 vehicles look like they were beaten with golf clubs or something, busted tailights & cracked lenses everywhere. The ground was totally covered with hailballs, kinda looks like christmas in June.

I'm going to bet one of your insurance policies covers it. I had my Volkswagen hail damaged when I lived on campus at OSU. Very similar damage to what you describe. My parents home owners policy somehow covered it. Don't ask me how. Total cost was the $200 deductible. Over $3k was the body shop bill. They used paintless dent removal and it looked great, even took out a few dents that were there before the storm.

Hope your experience is similar to mine.

Glad ya'll are alright. That's the most important part. Stuff can be fixed/replaced.
That seems rare for PA. I grew up in Girard (outside Erie) and only ever remember one hail storm. Parents still live there and they have never mentioned hail storms. Down here, during the spring, it seems like they happen as often as I change my BVD's (almost daily )
We were on vacation in South Padre Island in Febuary and my neighbor called and said we had a bad storm and that my truck took a bunch of hits.
Roof and hood damage, no window breakage. Auto Insurance paid $2150. Dings really aren't bad, been waiting until after hail season to replace hood. Spent the money on other stuff

Yeah, I've been through much worse things than this, thats for sure. I know it will work out, just needed to rant a little. Insurance adjuster is coming tomorrow I guess, I'll let you guys know how it goes.

If insurance doesn't pay, get some dry ice & try to pop them out yourself. Rub the dry ice on the dings for about 2 to 4 min a piece.

Sorry to hear that. Thought I was gonna end up the same way as you yesterday. Going down the thruway in the early afternoon it became as dark as night. Rain drops sounded like rocks falling on the windshield and hood, and about 4" of water accumulated in seconds with winds blowing the tractor and trailer sideways. Glad you made out somewhat alright too!

Someone else told me about the dry ice, does it really work well? The hood will definately be replaced, but I will have to try that on the roof.

Insurance company called today & told me to get a estimate done. I will have to get the entire truck painted because a few of the dents actually cracked the paint.

You know golf ***** have those little dimples to help it fly farther and faster. Maybe you should keep the insurance check and reap the benefits of less wind drag lol.

I don't like fresh paint, seems to attract scratches. I do excavating & I know it will be scratched the first day.
