had it 1 month and already broke something.

i spent the whole day today ,driving around jacksonville running errands. As i was walking by my truck i noticed what looked like oil splotches under my front left wheel well. As i investigated i found it was a red oil, it looked like transmission fluid. With some more investigating i think it is power steering fluid. The whole underside of my truck is coated. Here are some pics of the culprit.

you can see everything is wet down there. i think the leak is coming from the bottom of the powersteering pump, where the arm comes out. Has anyone had this problem before. It should be covered under warranty , the truck only has 26k.

Well as long as the procomp lift didnt affect the powersteering pump in any way it should be covered under warrenty. Notice- - - - Not the Cummins that was broke but a DCX issue.

The dealer may give you a bit of lip about the lift, but try anyway. If thwey don't cover it, I've heard the seal kits aren't too bad for those units.

check to make sure it is not coming from the lid first, some have been known to pressurize and push fluild through the top lid.

I dont see anyway the lift could cause this problem. i know some dealerships will use any excuse not to give you warranty, i hope this will not be the case. If so you may smell the stink a thousand miles away.

i had this problem on my 99, i got out one day and noticed fluid alll over my inner fender got to looking and it was coming from where i think you are talking about, i believe they called it a hydraboost...or something liek that. but it shoudl be under warranty at only 26k, if not i think i got mine at o'reilys for like 300....or 700 i cant remember it was one of the two. but dont let them pull that voided waranty crap with you...they have to have proof that it was the lift that did it, like there is some kind of federal act or som bs like that, i read about it in the manual to one of my edge chips...ill provide mroe info later....good luck!

That was the very first problem I had with my truck, i'd say around 15k on the clock at the time. One of the hard lines going from the hydro pump to the cooler had split. The truck got hard to steer so I thought I might of had a flat till I hit the brakes, and they were virtually non existant. That made for a lond drive to the dealer...

no difference

i have not felt the power steering get heavy yet. its must be a slow enough leak. I am taking it to a dealership in the morning. Hopefully they can fix it quick. I need my truck this weekend.
