H2 Wheels & Tires on a 1st Gen?

I've seen alot on the forum of people putting H2 17 x 8.5 wheels with 315/70r17 tires on their trucks but after reading this in another part of the forum I was wondering if you could get them on a 1st Gen.

"I've seen 'em on a 1st gen. so I don't why they wouldn't. Go for it!" (Refering to a person asking if H2 wheels and tires would work on a 94')

You'd definately need a lift in the front if you could but just wondering if its possible.

There may be some backspacing issues up front. I know 3rd gen Dodge rims have too much backspacing.

I am considering converting my truck to single wheels, something like the usa6x6 super single's,

or maybe even the H2 wheels. According to my research H2 wheels have 7"+ of backspacing. Well I have a dually which has built in wheel spacers on the front and and extra wide rear diff which sould put the hummer rims near zero offset.

Has anyone tried to convert a dually to singles just by getting a rim with extreme backspacing?

I have H2 rims on my 2wd. I had to trim a little of the lip off the upper arm but no problems after that. They should fit on a 4x4 with no problems.

H1 rims have ~7" of backspacing. H2s are around 5" I think but don't quote me.
