h1 steel 2 piece on 3rd gen?
Looking for a little better set up for the sand dunes than my stock 3rd gens, and michellins aired down to 10 PSI. Although this combo has taken me some trully amazing places, it is just not enough to pull the 5er through deep sand, is time to upgrade. The H1 2 piecers with internal beadlock seam to be a "cheap" fix. Wheels are inexpesive as well as 37" military surplus tires
So has anyone tried this?
The H1's are 16.5". I have read many a post about 16.5 alloys not fitting, but wondering if a steel would.
Also does anyone have experiance with the h1 2 piecers w/ internal bead locks. How do they perform.
Any pics of a 3rd gen with them?

maddog, how close was the fit? would a spacer ring behind the rim help ? say a half inch ?
They were . A spacer might just do it. I should have bought one to tinker with.
