Guys I need a part number

Guys

Im gettin everything ready to drop the transmission on the truck for this weekend. As i was down there looking yesterday i noticed that where the T case and the Tranmission connect is the source for the massive oil leak that I have had for a couple of weeks now.

My question is, what is it that is in there? is it some sort of a seal? If so do any of you have a part number? or is this seal a dealer only item.

Thanks guys...

Rick

Drain the trans, pull the rear housing, clean the surfaces with lacquer thinner, apply new black RTV, re-assemble, refill trans....................

Never had luck with the black or blue stuff where oil is present. I always use the copper 777 high temp silicone now with better results. I pretty sure there is a seal on the adapter plate on the transfer case side. I should remember as I just had it apart 2 weeks ago. The case is a cake walk to drop and reinstall without a jack. Dont forget to drain the Xfer case. It will leak all over the place if you forget.
