Guess the Gear ratio

Found a Dana 70 out of a 91 cummins 2wheel drive 5 speed truck.

The truck is gone owner says no tag on cover.

That leaves me to counting the teeth. I need #s please.
I"d count the teeth on my truck but the rearend is still good I dont what to open it yet.

Or are there any other marking to look for?

Thank You

http://www.spicerparts.com/identify.asp

This will tell what it is if your have the tag numbers.
For the no tag one, count the teeth and devide it out. 58/17=3.41

What is the tooth count on a 3.54 Axel.

Ring =
pinion =

Thank you

Or set one drum on something to prevent it turning, turn the other over two full turns, mark and count the number of turns the pinion yoke turns is your ratio.

IE: Two turns of drum= just less than 4 pinion turns=3.90 just more=4.10 etc.
