Growl on rolling left turns

Growl on rolling left turns
I had a growl when I would roll into left turns, sounded like it was coming from the front right side. I replaced the upper and lower ball joints, axle joints, hub assemblys, rotors, calipers, and brakes. The growl is not as pronounced now but is still there. Seems louder if I have a little pressure on brakes while turning. It only does it on left turns while rolling into them. If I come to a stop sign and then turn left it does not do it. I rotated the tires and that seemed to quiet it down a little also but it is still there. It used to growl through the whole turn but now only growls once or twice into the turn and not as loud. It has me thinking it has to be something in the front end that because the things I replaced seemed to help some. Anybody have any ideas? It also looks like I may have to tear it back down and change the axle seals. They are both leaking now and I was real careful. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

Check your tires for cupping. I run BFG mud T/A's on mine, and when the tries start to cup, they produce that same growl.
Usually a rotate will take care of it, unless the rears are scalloped as well, in which case you're pretty much hooped.

I think they are all cupped a little. They are Maxxis Buckshot tires and are about down to the wear bars. I switched the front two last night and it did not seem to make a difference. I also took the sway bar off and that did not help. I would like to put new tires on but would like to find the noise first. Thanks for the response.

This morning I took the truck around the block and at first the noise was barely there. After about 5 miles of driving it seemed to get worse. So it must be something that is getting warm. Any other ideas?

Yeah thats what I am about to do. Hopefully it is just that the tires are getting bald and cupped badly. The rear one that was on the front with the bad ball joint actually has some tears in the top of the tread.

The power steering pump will make the noise only going in one direction? If I turn the wheels back and forth just sitting still it does not make the noise. Please let me know. Could I just add additive then or do I have to replace it? Thanks

Some eight years ago after I had a torque convertor upgrade done I had a similar growl when turning (can't remember which way), so I took it back to the dealer that did the TC and they fixed it saying it was the exhaust pipe. I think they adjusted the position of the pipe. Hope you find your problem. I know mine was not something you could ignore or just turn up the stereo.

I don't think mine was a pipe contacting the frame. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the removal/replacement of my tranny. I think there is a hanger that gets disconnected or moved and that's when it didn't get properly re-installed. I'd look at everything on the exhaust system though.

Well I have tried about everything. I think I am giving up for now and I am going to blame it on the tires. It is 75% quieter since I rebuilt the front end so I think thats what it is. It used to do it on slow uturns now it only does it on faster left turns. They are very cupped and almost at the end of there tread life. Just wish I had another set to throw on and make sure. Thanks for all of the responses.
