>>> ground bolt thread size ??? <<<
Metric bolt.
Larboard fore bottom corner of the engine-block is a flat surface to which is bolted the big GROUND cable, either an 18- or 19-MM head on the bolt.
Can anyone tell me the thread-pitch/size of this GROUND bolt AND the length ??
Also, on this same flat surface, about 1-1/2" ahead of the GROUND bolt is another threaded hole; is this hole the same size as the GROUND bolt ??
It got dark on me before I could get this all checked out; and, if I know what I need, I can pick up a bolt tomorrow at work.
I am wanting to think 12-MM X 1.75 or somesuch, but it must surely be larger than that ??
Thanks.

Yes it's the same size. I know this from very recent. It might not be the same depth though. I got about half way with the ground bolt during my RV conversion and knew right away I was in the wrong hole lol.

I would have just screwed the thing out and brought it in the shop, but I couldn't disable it thus as she was fixing to take off in it.
Thanks.

Both the GROUND-bolt and the empty hole just ahead of it are size 12MM x 1.75.
The factory GROUND-bolt requires an 18MM wrench.
A standard metric hardware-store bolt has a 19MM head.
I cleaned out the empty hole with a tap and used a bolt that has 1-3/8" thread-length.
By itself, the bolt bottomed in the hole with maybe a sixteenth left before the head made contact.
It tightened up good with a copper-lug and lock-washer under it.
My mission was adding a 14"-long 2/0 GROUND-cable between this new bolt in the engine-block and an existing nearby hole in the frame which I tapped 1/2-13
