Any guidance on how to grind a stock cam plate to any certain plate number? Preferably a #10. Thanks in advance.

I have read about people grinding their stock plate to get results as if buying an aftermarket plate. Nobody around here that I know has one to copy. I cant believe nobody has done this. Hope somebody chimes in.

Two things I'll add to the thread mentioned.

1. This site and many others are brought to you by the help of such vendors as TST and the like. They take some of their hard earned money to adverstise and hopefully have you enjoy their products. By unethically obtaining the profiles to make your own stuff, well don't ask for help. As PushRod said, they spent time and money on the dyno to develop thier product. Don't expect anyone I know that paid good money for the plate to just hand over the profile.. I know Scotty personally and the patent thing rings close to home..

2. I think asking the question to the masses is a little unethical, but to each his own.

The profiles I know of are not patented or copyrighted in any way. Therefore, they are open market items. If one chooses to dupe them for their own use, there is no law or ethical statement against it that I know of. The hypocrites who'd like you to think you can only buy it fom one source would scream like a bunch of hungry kittens if they were told they "had to" buy oil or filters from the OEM source. Yet they don't mind making you wear the noose of a closed market.
I won't openly divulge the profiles on this venue, but I can assure you they are available. I can also assure you that many of these have been home ground, with great success.

Well, when it comes to technology, I don't see anyone here asking for the drawings of the B1 turbo or developing their own oil filters.. That point is moot.

If you knew anything about TST and where they came from, you may have a better idea of how the products were developed. It appears from these statements that you do not.

simple fix. grab a straight edge ruler. measure 1 1/4 Inch (Pretty sure) from the back of the plate cut is all off and move the plate to your desired Kick in the butt Well hey it works

Your definition of technology is a piece of iron that stops the fuel rack? Care to buy a high tech magnet that makes fuel stretch further? Although no one asks for specs on some given product, they can duplicate them at will, if the product is not patented. Yes, indeed, YOUR point is moot.

I know a good deal about TST and where they came from. I know a good deal about their development. Do you see anyone from TST waving a patent right? Has it occurred to you that you're fighting a battle the product makers don't even raise? Thanks for participating in the issue, tho. I had been quiet about it, having no reason to publicize plate profiles. Now every time you post about it, another reader will know there's a place to get them free!

I didnt know trying to save a buck was going to cause such a fuss. The only reason I even asked is because I saw on a profile "Custom Ground Plate". Hope nobody has any hard feelings as I didnt mean to take anything away from any company that manufactures performance parts. Its not like I was going to go out and try to start my own company. Not as many Good Old Boys on here as I thought. Next time I will use my right to PM.

I made my own starter contacts after seeing a picture of someone elses.(Not saying who's) Is this OK. Is it steeling if it's a high price item but not if it's a low price one???
