Question Grinding Feel in Gas Pedal

Hello,

I have a grinding feel in my gas pedal when the engine warms up. It only occurs shifting from first to second in my 48re transmission. Anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

No, I haven't experienced this, but it is interesting.

Since there is no direction connection for the accelerator pedal, and the system is fly-by-wire, I wonder what the 'grinding' is coming from??

That sound is the money being sucked out of your wallet every time you hit the go pedal.

If you really have an 04.5MY, the TPS is still mounted on the engine like the 03's. It wasn't until 2005MY that they went to the TPS located on the pedal for the autos, because they couldn't figure out how to activate the TV cable on the transmission.

Either way, they are all "drive by wire" even if its mounted on the engine. You probably have a corroded TPS cable or a corroded TV Cable (trans kickdown).

This may be a dumb question, but what is a TPS.

Thanks,

I have noticed that on mine too, but really didn't pay it much attention. I just thought it was part of the "personality" of my truck. Mine is also an 04.5 with the 48re.

Are you going to take it to the dealer for warranty?

I had them check it when I did the window binding fix. They could not replicate. I will take it in on my next change and make sure the engine is warm and it is occurring.

You are so right. If it had a gas pedal there would be severe engine damage!

I have been noticing the same exact thing. Only while the trani shifts from first to second. A grindind type vibration that transfers up through the fuel pedal.
