Exclamation Grid heater and Fuel Pressure...

I fired up the beast this morning and I noticed something odd. My idling FP was at 14 PSI and the grid heaters kicked in and the FP dropped hard to about 11 PSI. Then when the grid heater turns off the fuel pressure bounced back up again to 14 PSI... The cycle continues as long as the grid heaters came on...

I figuring it's normal cold start cycle... But I better ask the guru's here about it too... Just really odd to se the FP and the VOLT gauge drop together.

NO my fuel pressure guage is NOT ELECTRICAL... It a mechincal DiPricol...

Is it that the GRID heater are stealing all the power from the lift pump???

OK guru's what the answer here?

Based on my experience last year with the new guages, a little pressure drop is normal,
as the grid heaters do steal quite a bit of juice.

Mine does the same thing inthe winter. I think the grid heater will come on when it is really cold if you are below 15 mph too. Not sure just how this works howwever.

It's just the amount of juice the grid heaters draw. Mine does the same thing. Nothing to worry about. Now if the pump keeps doing that after the heaters turn off, then I'd be worried.
