Gov Spring Install
I did a search but I could not find any info on installing gov springs. I have to a truck this weekend and have not done gov springs yet. Does anyone know where I can get some info on this. About how long should it take me to put them in. Are there any special tips or tricks that I need to know. Like I said this will be my first time doing them so hopefully it will go smooth. From what I here it does not sound to hard but I guess I will find out. Thanks again for any help.

Re:Gov Spring Install
There are two ways to install the governor springs. Through the side, by removing the little plate under the afc, or through the top, by removing the air horn, afc cover, and the fuel stop plate.
I put mine in through the side. the most difficult part was removing the fuel solenoid so the the cover plate could be removed, re-installed.
When you get into the springs, remember to count the clicks that the keepers make when you remove them. Mark the first spring s that when you rotate the engine to do the second one you get the right one.
good luck

Re:Gov Spring Install
The install took about an hour or so. The tough part was getting one bolt of the solenoid bracket in and out. You might be able to get the side plate on and off without removing the bracket.
turn the engine using the alternator bolt if you do not have a barring tool
