Gotta purchase an intake

Sometimes we answer the same questions over and over . I need to buy an intake system ???. Have tried the search with no luck (one cell brain is a challenge) :P I've looked for Scotty11, would like to purchase on line if possible. Where or who would that be? Any suggestions on which would be better a Scotty or one of the others? ??? I'm really not picky just neeeed an after market intake . With the mods I have my truck just does not perform :'(,,YET

Re:Gotta purchase an intake

The Scotty, available at Wildcat Diesel for one, uses an oiled filter.
The AFE Megacanon is another system, available at Pier's for one, also uses an oiled filter. The aFe siystem is now available with their new Pro-guard 7 filters as well.
The K&N RE-0880 can be attached to the end of the factory air elbow, available through Summit, and is also an oiled filter.
There are also several sources for the BHAF
Fleetguard - PN= ah19037
Wix - PN= 42790
Napa - PN= 2790
Donaldson - PN= b105006
Baldwin - PN= pa2820

There are other sources that carry both the Scotty and aFe systems the 3 named are just the first ones who came to mind. I would recomend checking the advertisers sites.

As for recomendations I started with a Baldwin BHAF but I am now running a K&N but looking at other options because I need a prefilter for the K&N and I am having trouble locating one. If I can find a prefilter I will keep the K&n and build a heat shield/box to use with it.

Re:Gotta purchase an intake

I used to use the K&N 25-0880 prefilter for the RE-0880 filter. I got it at Checker. Never had to clean the filter, just the prefilter.

If you think you might like the AFE, Mr. Bob's is a great place to shop.

Re:Gotta purchase an intake

There's an AFE Filter Charger in the classifieds under the High Perfomance section. Don't know if this is a Mega-Cannon or not.......

Re:Gotta purchase an intake

Any body using the BD-Power intake. It looks good 8)but have not heard any news on how ???good it is. I'm also looking at the Scotty11 (Which I have heard a lot of good ;D) Looks are nice but I want more performance. If I can get both, thats better.

Re:Gotta purchase an intake

That BD intake looks real nice. I was going to build one liek that, but I can't afford the stainless, when I have aluminum available at work for free. So mine won't shine quite as well, but I hope it works well. $275 is a little pricey for me when I can build somethin like that really easy.
