Got a STEAL of a deal on Bushwhackers
I've got a good friend that runs a chassis shop, and he did some work on a guys 3rd gen awhile back. The guy bought a set of bushwhacker flares, but didn't want to remove the Cummins logo on the fender. So he just left the set of flares in the shop. The guy obviously had too much money, and made it in a shady way... A year later the guy is in the pokey, lol, and I picked up his flares for 4 12-packs of Mountain Dew!!! I think they are the pocket flares. Anyway they are new in the box, I'm having them painted right now. I'm sooo tired of cleaning the road oil off of my new truck due to the 325/60's sticking out about 2"... Anybody got these? Do they rattle or come loose or rub your paint bad? Is there anything I should know about them???

Whitesport, the bushwackers will rub the paint even w/ the rubber trim. I took mine off because of this, and I can almost not tell after buffing the fenders for hours! I only had them on for 8 months.

I learned my lesson too. Aint nut'n like pulling them things off and then running in the house to change your shorts! That was on my previous truck and I was pulling them off to put on this one, I had to put them back on (really scraped to crap) and then traded it. Well, this one has ATS flares with the 3M backing. I got a photo of them, not a real good shot. I like'm...

Well, crap! At least I've only got about $60 in them... I'll keep a close eye on it I guess. If I don't ever take them off, you won't be able to see the rubbing right?

Just go out and buy a roll or 2 of the 3m tape and use it. I do not think it is some super secret tape that only flare manufactures can get. Just make sure the adhesive is srtong enough to hold the flare to the body so th flare does not rub.

There's no place on the inside of the Bushwhackers to put the tape. Where the flare meets the fender is just a 1/16" thick peice of plastic. No rolled edge to attach tape or anything. Basically they are completely hollow. I guess I'm glad my truck is white. You can buff anything out of white...lol

Also, I was thinking of relocating the "C" emblem to the doors just past the "RAM 2500" emblems. Has anyone done this. Do you think it would look stupid, or should I just leave them off. I really don't want to move them above the flare, it looks to gawdy.

You could always mark where it will hit on the truck and then just attach the tape (or other material) to the truck so that when the flare is attached it will hit that and not the paint.

I would put the C logo under the ram 2500 emblems, like the older CTD's. Seems like a more appropriate place than sticking it randomly on the front fender somewhere - no offense nonford. Personally, I removed the ram 2500 from the side because I didn't like how it looked with those huge letters.I bought it for the CUMMINS not the Dodge I'm in the process of removing all the badging completely, and will have one Cummins logo on the tailgate.

Whitesport, Did the flares not come w/ the rubber trim? It goes the length of the flare where it touches the paint. If not, I'd forget it. And by the way mine is white also and it looked pretty chitty when I took the flares off to clean under them. The paint was pretty scuffed up.
