I can't see it from work.

Two questions.

Does it have a place to mount a GDP 2micron filter like the stock elbow? If so, how much is it?

Yeah, it has the spot for the filter. AFE sells them of their website for $349, so it'll be somewhere around there or under.

Speaking of intakes, The banks sales rep called me today and tried to sell me a bunch of stuff for my 06 duramax. had to tell him that I did not have it anymore. then tried to sell me a bunch of stuff for the ctd. told him to tell gale to lower the prices and I would think about it. he tried to sell me the banks intake for less than $300 shipped to my door. not interested. but am interested in one of these units!

maybe my photo res. is bad, but the internal finish seems far from smooth. The polishing seems pretty bad.

Isn't the idea to be very smooth for max air flow without turbulence (sp?)?

Maybe a perf. shop could give it a little TLC.

The internal finish is fine - "polished" surfaces are actually detrimental to airflow - since slight surface roughness (such as a sand-cast finish or carbide bit texture) promotes good laminar characteristics, which helps to prevent the airflow from separating around the manifold/port turns.

Of course, forced-induction dry-flow intake systems aren't nearly as responsive to these issues!
