Got some Cooper AT3s today

I was going to buy the ST Maxx but I went for the quieter, smoother ride. I was running stock size tires. These are 285/70-17E.
These are very quiet and seem to have very good handling. They must be a bit heavier than the 265/70 Silent Armors that I had, I noticed I need to push the brakes a little harder to stop. I also noticed the truck feels much better in tight curves, seems to have less body roll. I'm running 65psi front and 55psi rear and the sidewalls are not rolled much at all, not like the 265's.

Enjoy the pics.

I have about 20,000 on a set of Dicoverer ATR's on my truck and have been very pleased, nice even tread wear and good handling with little or no road noise. My only complaint is that I have to have them balanced more frequently than my last set although I think that has as much to do with the poor roads around here than anything.

How are those handling in the snow?

If I would have bought them a week ago I could have tested them in 8 inches of the wet crap. So far they have only seen dry roads.

Cooper rates these better for snow than the ST Maxx. I really like the look of the ST Maxx but I wanted to go for quiet and longer tread life.

BTW, the Silent Armors were one of the best snow tires I've had but by 30k miles they had about 3/16" tread left.

If we get snow soon I'll let you know.

I have the 285 ATRs on my 3500 Megacab and its a love hate relationship. I love them cause they are wearing like iron and give decent traction in snow. But I hate them cause they vibrate. The truck has done it sense I put them on and they claim there is nothing wrong. I have around 62K on them and they apear to have at least anouther 20K or more left in them. A lot of those miles are pulling my heavy toy hauler around.

I may have to look into those AT3s when these need replacing. They look nice.

If those AT3's wear like my STT I use as my winter tire then expect them to last a long time.

I have noticed a slight vibration around 60mph. I think it may be because the sidewalls are a little stiffer so I feel more imperfections in the road. Who knows?

I hope so. Cooper rates them for better wear than the STTs. I can't afford tires every 30K.

I just traded for a set of LT 265/70r/17 ATR M/S on stock chrome rims with less than 1,000 miles on them and are like new. They had 40 lbs in each tire and I put 60 in the fronts and 50 in the rears. Went for a ride and they were quiet and no vibrations at 70 mph so very happy.

What are you guys running for air pressure running empty?
