I got bored

My valve cover gaskets were leaking so I got some new one's from geno's. While I had the covers off I sanded them all down and polished them up. They ain't perfect but they look a lot better than they did before. I also did a little paint work on the motor but I thought I had semi gloss paint and it was flat as flat can be paint. Oh well it still looks better than rust lol.

Ooohhh, shiney!!! Looks right purdy Bill. In fact, I might just do the same to mine! You'll get full credit for the inspiration if I do.
Yeah, that flat sure is FLAT isn't it... looks like it could suck the light out of even the darkest of nights.

Well i removed the paint with a wire wheel then I sanded with 120 then with 220 and used brown jewlers rouge and a buffing wheel to shine them up.

Yes it is. That cover on his truck looks amazing! I think he said he didn't do much sanding, used laquer thinner or something to take the paint off, and then just sanded it. He also polished his cover in his ip iirc.

The v/covers look gooo-oood.
Just an fyi,if you're spray bombing engine parts while still on the engine, tin foil works REAL good to mask off the parts you don't want painted. It forms real easy and cuts down on the over spray keeping it off hoses etc.
I've done master cyl's and various parts masking them that way 'cause I was too lazy to blow it all apart.

Paint it gloss black and take a DA sander w/220 and sand down all the raised letter surfaces to give them that machined look

Unless it's untaxed, then it's red.
