So i got a new (to me) 12 valve. '97 reg cab 5sp 4x4 102k. Its bone stock minus the straight pipe exhuast. Im gonna get the KDP taken care of ASAP, change the oil and probably bump the timing. Any other initial things you guys think i should check/do on it? I guess im gonna have to part w/ the ole '95 to pull myself out of the 12k debt and to fund the new bombing Thanks. Kevin.

How much did the 97 cost you and how much are you goin to sell the 95 for.

I say keep them both, you can never have too many 12-valves.

I would change all the fluids and all the filters, inspect the brakes, ball joints, bushings, frontend, trackbar, etc. You already mentioned the KDP, and timing, I would also check the valves for adjustment. I would also replace the rubber supply and return hoses, behind the fuel filter, with high quality USCG-rated hose.

Then I would transfer all of the performance goodies from the 95 before selling it.

i gave 12k for the 97. i'd really love to keep em both. then i could BOMB one of em and not have to worry bout breakin the daily driver. but i cant hardly afford to keep em both so im hopin to get at least 10 out of my 95. but after i take most of the goodies off that may be hard to get. what do you guys guess its worth? its in real good shape...got a little rust under the doors like most, but not bad. other than that it's real clean, good tires, etc.

we bought a 97 4x4 club cab in october, for a $7,500
and a while ago bought a 4x4 94 for $4,500

but we did sell it for double the price

yeah, i'd like to know too. around here the only 12 valves under 10k are 2wd or TONS of miles...
