Gosh darn Bully Dog.....
Here's the ultra-Pollyanna version of an already Pollyanna post I made yesterday that was pulled for foul language .....
I wanted to update my Triple Dog to the newest programs so I uninstalled it today from the truck. I had nothing but trouble! While reloading the factory program the darn thing froze up on me, causing the reprogram to fail. Everything seemed to work but the truck wouldn't start. I just about soiled my britches thinking how I would explain to the wife why I needed a new ECM then proceeded to call Bully Dog every dirty word in the book. So I tried again and the Triple Dog spouted out some programmer jargon I don't understand: "Bad Seed Packet" followed by 4 lines of codes: 7F03, 3727, FFFF and FFFF again. What the heck? By this time I'm walking in the garage to grab the 10-lb sledge so I can fix the programmer. Luckily for me it was in the survey truck with the field crew! So I reel myself in and go back outside to try again. This time the program takes and I get the truck running. Whewww!
So I tell myself, "you better get this updated if you want to use it again". So I plug it in to the PC, start the update process, and it freezes up half way through . I try over and over again and get the same results. Arrgghhh! Now it tells me I need to run the update again or call Bully Dog. What a piece of you know what! Suffice it to say once I get it fixed this this is being shelved or 4-sale. There's no way I'm putting it back on the truck!
Okay, feel a little better now.....

That's why I bought a module instead of a programmer. I worry about issues like that. Of course, there really aren't many complaints about the Smarty. That's probably what I'd get IFFFFF I decided to go with a down-loader.

Call 1-866-BULLYDOG (1-866-28559364) and talk to Andy. He has taken very good care of me and my buddies. Only had 1 issue that wasn't caused by human error out of the 6 or 7 Bullydogs floating around college station to my knowledge, 3 of which i've personally owned.

This may help you pt if you got an outlook. I had problems with returning back to stock & truck not starting. Now I do this every time for updates & going to the dealer. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...=134368&page=2

No one was "crying" about BD. Just making a point. It's kind of nice when we can hear of the good and bad of all these power adders on the market.
But Smarty seems to have the least amount of reported issues by members on this site.
One good thing about BD is the price. That's what first caught my attention.
But again, I'll stick with a module for now.
