Has anyone ever put a recirculation switch in a 98' i only get real warm air when i put my heat on max a/c the only problem is that it won't blow on the floor and defrost. is there any way could i put some kind of switch vacuum/electric in to keep the cab air recirculating ? has any one done this any ideas

I think that you already have what you want , just need to fix it , not sure what your controls look like , but mine has a position that recirculates , the 2 other heat position bring if outside air .
There seems to be a problem with your sw. , the vacume motor or vacume line .

No recirc is a big problem with '98 and newer trucks in the north.
My feeling is when it gets below -0F you don't even need a radiator, just cold air flowing though the heater core is enough. I've watched my temp gauge sink instantly by just switching inbetween recirc and other positions when it's below zero.
I've never done a mod like this but think it would be somewhat easy. Just pull out the control switch and find what triggers the A/C max position to close the outside air door. I have a feeling it might be electrical rather than vacuum, which might make it very easy.
If you figure out how to do this mod write it up in detail as it would be a great improvement to share for all newer trucks.

In the meantime just pack snow over the air inlet at the outside base of the windshield.
