Good Deal or Bad Deal on 2007?
Hello all,
I'm looking at a couple 07 diesels at a dealer. Believe it or not they are brand new and left over. I have heard some things that have me concerned about buying one of these trucks. Can someone help me? I have heard about a bunch of recalls, problems with turbos, problems with EGR (what is that?), problems with emissions etc. Have these things been fixed? A couple were made in Mexico and the rest in USA. Does that matter? Does it depend on when it was made? And how would I know? I see on the sticker where it say 5-07 and then 4-07. Sorry for all the questions just want to know as much as I can about them before I buy one. Thanks in advance.

Mine was built in April '07 and other than a couple returns to dealer for cel's has been trouble free. I have had the later flash and am able to run with the egr unplugged for improved mileage. So, my experience has been good but I have read on this site of others who have had problems with early built '07s . If you are going to eliminate the dpf , etc. you should have no issues.
I'd say if the price is right buy it and have them update the ecm flash.

Egr valve sits on top of the intake horn, when unplugged it stops a lot of the exhaust gases from being put back into the engine. Dpf is Diesel Particulate Filter and both are the cause of most problems associated with the 6.7's. Do a search on this site and you will become knowledgeable.
