Gonna try Ford wheels, leveling springs and bigger tires

Anyone got pics of a 1st gen with 94-97 Ford factory Alcoa wheels? I've been told they fit out trucks fine. I have a set coming in the mail. I guess I'll find out for sure soon.

Also, when I do the wheels, I'm going to swap some of the heavy duty leveling springs under the front. I'm planning on running 265 size tires then. We'll see.

Sounds like a cool idea, Alcoa's are nice rims in my book. Might have to try this out on my truck, that is if i dont just paint the ones I have black when I paint my truck black....

I just got a set and put them on last week, they have smaller tires on them though(245/75/16), but they look great!!

You'll have to get new lug nuts, as the ones for the stock steel wheels won't work.

Bringing this back to the top...

apwatson50, can you give me more details about the lug nuts? I'm looking at them and can't see why my stock nuts won't work. I'm wondering what I'm missing here.

Regards,
Kevin

The taper on the stock ones aren't deep enough, so when you try to tighten them down the hex part will start to dig into the aluminum.

The cheapest place i've found is bigO. buck a piece.

no pics but yeah you're going to love those wheels. I was running them for a while too and swapped out the 245/75's for 265/75's. The wheels I found came off an e350 van.
The max load rating for these alcoas are around 3700 lbs per wheel!! they are amazing.

Big-O tire, they are like a discount tire. Maybe they're only in this part of the country?

Pape, can you hook me up with the part number for the nuts?

I'd like to run something like 2nd gen center caps on these wheels. I'm afraid to run the Ford center caps. **** truck might revolt against me.
