What is going on?

Im starting to think I should paint my truck nice, clean the interior, and sell it for three times what its worth ! Am I crazy or are these guys?

Ive met the second guy. He buys these trucks on the west coast and details them out, then flips them for too much. Nice guy, but he doesnt know didily about the trucks, just their value .

once someone gets greedy and buys one for twice its value someone will try to take it a step higher and sell it for even more hoping for a desprate buyer. keep buying and someone will try selling

its crazy but also comforting. while everyone else's trucks are depreciating in value, ours are going up.
be proud!

Either of those trucks will bring more than the asking price at a public farm auction around here.

People have tried the new, and it didn't taste so good; so, they are fast spewing it out, and going back to the better OLD.

Also, those trucks are the CREAM, extended cab, FIVE-speed, 4x4, and arid Western climate rust-free bodies/frames.

I agree. The older trucks value's are through the roof. Finding any loaded 1st gen in good shape with low-to-decent mileage will bring a grip of cash.

I've been seeing similar trucks in the same price range for years. Less-equipped trucks (2wd's, reg cabs, etc) still pull big money, but they can be found for affordable prices.

Makes me glad I still have my 93. It's almost weekly someone drives by and asks if it is for sale.

Somewhat off topic; but, I see in your sig that you are building a 93 Ramcharger.

What year did production of the Ramcharger cease??

I have a buddy that has an old Trailduster.

Also, just yesterday, I passed a house that had three in the driveway, and about half a dozen, up on blocks, out back.

I have to say my 93 gets more compliments than any vehicle I have ever owned.

I have also had several people ask me if I wanted to sell it to them in parking lots and such over the past couple of years.

BK, 93 was the last year of production, unless you count the South of the Border models! Ramchargers were 74-93, Traildusters were 74-81. One offbeat thing about the 1981 Trailduster was it was the only year of the newer body(with fiberglass lift hatch instead of removable top). I had totally frame-off restored my 1981 Trailduster whilst owning it for 13yrs when a Terd pickup ran a stoplight(typical...) and totalled it last fall , but I think it's repairable. Hope your friend has better luck, let me know if he needs any parts, ok?
