Going to look at a truck
No, I'm not getting rid of my 1999, I'm going to look at a 1997 for a farm truck, our current farm truck is an 1987 Ram 150 with only 44,000 on it!!!!!!! I'm not going to get rid of that truck even though it is a 2wd, nice run around truck. But being mine is the only 4wd on the farm I believe its time for another one. I'm going to go look at this 1997 2500 club cab, long bed that has 304,000 on it. The truck is an automatic but the thing looks great from the pictures, but can't really determine that until I see it in person. I know to look at the tranny and see how it shifts, KDP and shut off solenoid but is there anything else I need to be concerned about? The are asking $8000 for it but I believe that can be talked down. What do you guys think? Thanks

I'd say the good thing about that mileage is that a lot of the common wear problems have probably been fixed already (alternator, bearings, u-joints, etc). Or at least I'd hope so. If not, then turn around and run...

yup everything should be already taken care of, unlike my truck i bought it with 104k when the tranny is starting to go, and stuff needs rebuilding. i would say go for it.

I'm going to get my aunt to pull the CarFax on the truck since she works at the local Dodge place near here. One thing that showed to me is the plastic on the front bumper not being faded. Makes me wonder if it has had that replaced or has been a garage baby all its life.

I hope it all comes back good on it, just called my aunt and she is going to look it up for me before she leaves tonight. Knowing myself good and well even though it would be a farm truck is going to be a slightly bombed farm truck
