Question where to get a transmission rebuild kit

I don't post much but am a lurker, don't know enough to have any suggestions... I have a 1992 3/4 ton with an automatic trans. I think it is the 46RH transmission and the truck is bone stock. Here are my problems. The overdrive solenoid is shorted, blew the fusible link so I just unplugged the overdrive connector from the trans. It takes about 5 minutes to build up fluid in the torque converter before the truck will move. I have a guy that will do the rebuild if I get the parts. So I need to know what parts I need. I don't really want to spend a ton of money and we just use the truck to pull a trailer with hay and maybe a car or two. No real work and don't plan on hopping it up any either. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Scroll down past the complete transmissions and you'll see the rebuild kits, from mild to wild.

For towing, I'd reccomend getting an aftermarket torque converter, If you can afford it. You don't wanna put your stocker back in there thats all old and full of junk.

A good tight one that will put more torque to the ground and help you with towing, Will run about $550 from well know converter guy www.goerend.com

If the truck is completely original, it runs the A518 transmission (non lock-up torque converter).

Crossy, I was quoted $650.

Also, yes, the A518 is a 46RH.

$650 is for the lifetime warranty....Maybe he doesn't offer the 1 year warranty anymore??? that was the $550 one.
