would like to upgrade my my injectors with some higher hp nozzles the injectors are brand new so i dont want to replace them but would like to get some higher hp nozzles without spending a lot of bucks any ideas or suggestions on where to get some for my 06

DDP or I am sure that Don M. can fix them right up. If you want a little oversized then this is also a good route. http://gethoned.com/diesel.php there has been quite a few guys that I know of that have had real good results from this guy.

you can send yours in to ddp to be honed as well, its usualy about $50 each...

forgot to mention i cannot have this truck down for more then 2 days due to its a haul truck and works almost every day hauling. so sending mine off for work would be impossible. so i need either a allready done set or an exchange

DDP will treat you right if all you need is nozzles. Why not just order them and put them on yourself? It can be done.

I just got done changing the the inj. tips myself for the 1st time working on a diesel. It was really very simple, total time to replace should take no longer than 4 hrs. total. You do know without supporting mods. that you'll run higher egt's if you go more than 50's.................

Would you be doing the nozzle swap yourself or taking them to a Diesel shop for the work?

doing it myself i do 98% of the mechanic work on all my diesels, have 3 big trucks and 2 5.9 one that is being pulled out due to poor manufacturing from DC. I have pulled injectors out so many times i can do an r&r in about 5hrs so its not a problem, the main thing is down time trucks a hot stot so it has to be available asap

I understand. In the past we have sent nozzles only to some companies and injection shops to do the work. Saving downtime and shipping cost.

Tim Barber has done some nozzle swaps as an example at his shop. I dont have a problem sending nozzles only to qualified people with low mileage engines who can do the work themselves. I think a 40-50 HP nozzle would be the way to go for a tow rig. Maybe even a 25 HP for the best economy.

i have pulled the nozzles off before due to the fact that i had problems before the 5 and 7 micron filters existed and talked to bosch before they recomended the lower micron filters. just need to know who has the best for the buck dont like pressure boxes due to the fact that i believe they cause more problems then they are worth. i tow heavy and for long periods so i would just like a little more hp with out killing the motor

Don is the best to go with IMHO. Who else will come on a forum and try to work with you so that you can keep your towing right on the road?

I'd PM him and see if you can work something out with him. Maybe one of your trips will bring you by a shop he can get some parts to for you?

I agree 100% with you but not everyone can afford Don's injectors. I believe that there are other options that are just as good for people on a tight budget!
