Gents, I need the help / wisdom of this board.

Like a poster not far down the page, I too am having fuel tank troubles. I'm disabled and in an effort to cut down on the amount of time I have to spend crawling around under the truck, is there a diagram online anywhere that will show the fuel tank and it's components? A few years back right after I first got my implants done I was on a trip with the wife to see our daughter in Colo. I'd filled the truck up and gone in to pay and on the way back out to the truck I saw fuel running out. I asked a guy were the nearest Dodge dealer was that I was leaking fuel. He said he bet he knew what was wrong and went under my truck and was reaching up over the fuel tank fooling around. He said he found it and that there was a screw on vent cap on top of the tank that he come lose. Said his brothers truck had done the same thing and when you filled it right up into the filler neck it too would run out. I'm hoping like crazy that is the problem again but won't know till I can try to get under it. I'd just like to know what and where things I'm looking for are. Thanks for any help guys.

I can tell you that if is only leaking while running, it's your return line.

The only thing that fuel would really be able to run out of on the top of the tank module is the vent and the rollover valve.

Other than that, you have a return fuel dorman connection, a fuel feed dorman connection and the locking ring, gasket, module assembly itself.

There's just not much there to cause this issue.

And there is nothing that can be "tightened" on the module other than the lock ring. And it's typically very tight. Not something you are gonna do on your back under the truck. All the fittings are retained in grommets and again, they are typically tight.

I would suspect the fuel fill hose and or the vent line first.

The only exception is for those that run bio and veg oil. Some of the blends will eat the rubber components.

There is a rubber cap over a secondary fuel pickup line that can crack and cause fuel to leak down. I use this secondary pickup for my Espar..

Espar is a coolant heater for the engine. Basically I never use the block heater and this thing gets the engine up to operating temp before I start it.

You forget the cost the first time its -30.. Not having to run the engine and have heat in the cab is an added benefit in the winter.. I got the 7 day timer too so its ready and warm at the airport when I get back from a biz trip..
