Geno's Mr Gasket Fuel Pressure Guage

I decided to go the cheap route and get this guage while I was already ordering some filters for my truck. Geno's does not recommend using this permanently but instead recommends connecting it to check pressure and then removing it when you are done. I have a billet fuel filter cap on the way and was thinking about just installing it right onto the cap and leaving it hooked up there for good. Does anyone see a problem with that? Anybody else go this cheap route too?

You know, I was thinking of doing the same. I have a Harley Davidson oil pressure gauge that's laying around and not doing anything.

Same name. Same way of thinking.....

I'm doing it. Both items are on the way so I may as well make use of them. I'm not sure why Genos says not recommended for long term use. I guess I'll find out.....

I'll keep a brass plug with me, to plug the cap if the guage goes bad, just in case...

I've got an oil pressure guage that is brand new in the box from years ago. I didn't even think about using that!!!!!

And now that you gave me that idea, I think I will cancel the guage order. My guage is made by SUN so it should be OK. Does anyone have any idea why this would NOT work??? I run a stock fuel pump so pressure will only be around 10psi or so. This guage goes up to 80PSI so I should be well within the safe parameters....

I will work but will self distruck if not liquid filled due to vibration. Get a liquid filled one from an industrial supply and it will last forever. I got one from eBay with a stainless case for $30 shipped.

Thanks. Mine is definitely NOT liquid filled. I will use it as needed for now and remove it when I am not checking pressure. I'll start looking for a better permanent unit...

That gauge might work if using Geno's test line for the VP44. Mount the gauge away from the engine.

I'm sure my Sun guage will work as well as the Mr Gasket $20 guage for now. I will be keeping my eyes open for a better liquid filled unit though...
