If you look over at rv.net and do a search for that genny you'll see what people say about it for camping. Except for getting parts if you need them, they seem to be good units.

It looks like a one of those companies that copied Yamaha. There are also companies that copy Honda generators. Myself, I went with a Honda. I had a Honda 1000 for over 10 years and never had any repairs done on it, only oil change every year and a new spark plug after 8 years. Sold it for $550 because I needed something a little bigger. It's one of those thing that you get what you pay for and it depends how long you want to keep it. But this is only my 2 cents. I have never own Boliy 3600si and can't comment on them.

Thanks for your replies. I too like the Honda but I have a 1500 btu air conditioner and heard that the 3000 Honda would not start it and can't afford the 3600.

Get two Honda 2000's. Run one for charging the batteries, etc. Run both in parallel when running the AC. I hardly ever run the AC when dry camping. With the inverter, running the genny only occurs every other day or so to recharge the batteries.

i have a boliy 3600 it has been used about 200 hours so far. i bought a high altitude jet for it and installed it myself. i did not have any problem getting the part so i am hoping that other parts are that easy to get. the generator does work very well only one thing i found that i am going to look at is the fuel gauge does not seal and traveling it let's some gas splash out. may be defective seal rather than design, just have not looked yet

Thanks would also like to know how loud it is compared to other brands. Sense I live in the mountains is the upgrade to the carb. necessary.

it is very quiet. i live at 7,000 feet i used the generator for about 100 hours before i got the jet. i did not notice any difference. i did it to conserve fuel not because of problems. the jet was a option for 5,000 feet up. i like the 30 amp plug. i keep calling it a generator but it is not it is a true sine wave inverter just like the honda. the handles make it easy for me to remove from the front of the 5th wheel for use where the honda was harder to get a hold of to get out

I have this one and it powers my toy hauler fine. It has the smart throtle so it only runs as fast as it needs to to make the power you need. If not running anything heavy like the AC or Microwave it never comes off of idle. THe only thing I dont like abougt it is that when you turn the microwave on you have to go out and shut the smart throtle off so it goes wide open before you turn the microwave on. It has isues going from idle to full load. It will all but choke out and die before it gets caught up. Thats not good on the microwave either. I dont know abought the AC because I have only used it once in the last 3 years to power the AC otherwise I never need AC while boondocking. My isue is that my house battery will not power my furnace all nite while in the mountains. So I just run the geny all nite. It is so quiet that you literaly cant hear it run if the camper dore is shut and thats with it sitting under the awning. When I move it out behind the camper and run it out to the end of the power cord you cant even hear it if you are outside on the other side of the camper. I normaly would not ahve bough the made in China version of the Honda but it was free with the camper. If I have to replace it I will get a Honda or Yamaha with remote start and surge asistance. They now use th battery in the geny to help overcome the surge that teh microwave or AC kicking in causes so that you dont have the isues I do and have to go out and kick it up to high speed before turning on the apliance.

That brings up another question about battery's 2 12volt, or 2 6volts and the 6volt battery being golf cart battery's.

(2) 6V golf Cart batteries in series is the best way to go, if you have the space.
I raed all the response on RV.net about the Boliy 3600. It sounds like a good way to go.
3000/3300 watts, 70 lbs, DPS and about the same price as a Honda 2000.
I read where the Boloy Guy will include shipping back to him for service for 2 years (warranty) for an extra $50. They have been out 3 years now and seem like the answer to a boondockers prayer. They even have electric start now.
There is no question that Honda & Yamaha have excellent products & service, but you pay a premium for that. The Boliy seems to be more adavanced, having DSP, while the others are analog. It also puts out the most watts (more efficint) for that size motor, 5.5hP.

i broke down and bought a 3500 w model for $419.00 and it is just what i needed......it runs the AC and microwave with no problem ...not too bad for noise, 67 db compared to honda EU3000ISA at 49 to 53................but the honda is a much more expensive generator, $2000.00.and more than likley much better
