For a 2003 with the pump on the filter cannister, it would be bypassed. No in tank unit is necessary. You can look at the install instructions on the GDP site.

The fuel system is bypassed you remove the filter mounted pump and install their billet adapter and the new lines goes off of that to the new Walbro pump. Easy to install don't worry.

Yep, what bdewey said. I just installed one for a buddy last weekend, it's what I will be doing when my stocker fails or I get some extra cash.

Everything's in the kit from DTR. Just remove the old pump and follow the directions for installing the new one.

as long as fuel cell has return line and pick-up line you are good. Should be no problems. The pump mounts on the frame. You then mount the billet adapter on the filter canister and run your rubber hoses. Real basic set up. Kit also comes with the wires to power pump off old pumps power connecter.

Usually your return line is smaller than the pick-up line. The pick-up line is 3/8" and the return usually 1/4" or 5/16". The pick-up usually is always bigger of two.
