gauges?

ok on the subject of gauges, is there a preferred brand or is there a brand to stay away from? I was planning on adding a trans temp and egt gauge to my truck since i'm planning on a bigger trailer. also are there any others that i should add or monitor? i'm planning on leaving the truck stock other than a brake kit, at least for a while anyways.

I like the look and performance of my Auto Meter Ultra Lites. I like the 'old school' look with gauges rather than a monitor. I'm happy with them.

I put Isspro EGT and boost on a pillar mount on my 05.
They almost match the factory gauges.
The only other one Im going to add is the tranny temp.

Are y'all using pilliar gauges? I was looking at where to put additional gauges. I've seen the pilliar set up but how does it work w/ the grab handle? Due to my "vertical impairment" I used my grab handles.

you can get a set up that goes above the rear view mirror holds 3 gauges or you can get one gauge in the pillar and still keep the grab bar.. if you get a pillar that holds 2 or more the handle it gone.. Take a look at some of these they might give you an idea on how u want to go about doing it. http://www.dieselmanor.com/pillars_p...uge_mounts.asp

does anyone have the one that goes overhead above the rear veiw? and if so do you have the center computer and can you see the gauges ok? i like this set up but the computer display looks like it could get in the way.

I would get the Quad Comander Gauges and the pilar mount. You still keep the grab handle, and you get more gauges. The unit is nice and sleek looking and works flaulessly. Then if you decide to mod it will control alot of the add power goodies.

i've got mine on the dash and they were really easy to install as long as you have a die grinder to poke a hole in the dash because you can't get a drill in there. there's plenty of good places to run wires too. i like my autometer's alot.

What would I want to monitor? EGT, turbo press,.... What else? I don't plan (famous last words) on "major" mods. I just want to keep an eye on things.

Certianly don't mean to hijack!
