I was planning on getting gauges and saw the Attitude. It would be cheaper this way. What are the would be better to run on my truck? I have a stock 2005 3500 srw 2wd

it does not really matter, both options would be an accurate way of monitoring egt, boost, and trans temp. I have had the attitude monitor in my old truck, and currently have gauges in my new one, both do the same, but i personally like the look of gauges much more.

go with gauges, if you are like lots of us you will prob go back to the smarty or try out many programmers/tuners/boxes which you will need gauges for, if you do the gauges now you wont need them down the road if you change your setup

I choose to go with gauges, they suited my needs well. They are seen by dealerships as independent of the electronic stuff that could include a programmer/power mods, less hastle from the dealership over warranty claims.

While it does not take much to educate a dealership about electronic monitors, especially if you can take a manual on whatever monitor you are using, it still seems to be more of a speed bump with dealerships and warranty claims.

The monitors are very tidy/neat all-in-one packages, so that is a plus for them in the overall. I wear reading glasses, cannot drive with them on, the monitors are very difficult for me to read. A gauge can at least be viewed in a relative position without having to read an exact number.

If you aren't planning on any mods in the future, the Edge monitor is the way to go.

The only downfall to the electronic monitors is that they get the readings from the factory sensors. The factory MAP sensor is only good to 40 psi. This is very easy to exceed with an aftermarket charger. After 40 psi, the ECM starts to extrapolate. (this is only one example)

Look at the Edge Insight. It plugs into the OB under the dash and will accept the EGT Probe (addtional cost) Its strickly a Monitor and can not modify the engine. It unplugs and is gone in 1 minute. (300 dollars)

Bully Dog and some others have similar items.

I had a Bully Dog Outlook and now have 3 gauges. I liked the options and the adjustibility that the Outlook gave me but I like the looks of the gauges better. I also think the gauges are much easier to read. I now have fuel pressure, boost and EGTs in the form of Isspro gauges and I have rail pressure from the Quad X2. A rail pressure gauge for a stock truck wouldn't be necessary.

As said before, the monitors read boost from a sensor when a gauge is mechanical. My Quad X2 reads boost but it's a little different reading from the mechanical gauge. Not enough that I wouldn't trust it if it were my only source, but enough that I notice it if I compare the two.

Thanks. I think I will go with the gauges. I was not aware that I couldn't use the Attitude without the Juice (want to stay stock until warranty runs out).
So the next question: Isspro, Auto Meter, or that combination job that Genos Garage sells.
Was only thinking about boost and EGT (any thoughts).
