gauge question
I just bought a 06 3500 quad cab dually, auto tranny. i have been researching on gauges to install. I plan on towing my 10k lb. race car trailer. It has an afe intake and exhaust on it but other than that it is stock. I dont want to mod it(for now). i have been researching what I need to monitor, especially when towing. I like the idea of the electronic monitors but could someone give me a quick rundown on what to monitor and how to use the info. my understanding is EGT (wait to shut down engine until below a certain temp, also to monitor while climbing), trans temp (to help decide when to turn off overdrive). any other things to know?
thanks

That's about it for constant monitoring. If things are not going well, it's nice to be able to check things like rail pressure. But for constant daily monitoring I don't find that helpfull. Even on a hot day at 70mph, I'v not seen the trans temp go up much above 100* or so. But I only tow about 5K#.
I do like to keep an eye on the boost pressure during daily driving. More boost = more fuel used.

As well as the tranny temp and EGT, boost and fuel pressure in that order.
