What are the pro's and Con's of each gauge manufacture? There are Autometer, Isspro, DiPricol and probably a bazillion others. Lets read what you have to say about their accuracy, where they are made, customer service, appearance and pricing.

I personally only care about 270 Degree or larger sweeps but you should post on all of them as others might not care how large a sweep a gauge has.

I have the boost, trans temp, and EGT from glowshift. Price was right.

Boost gauge goes 0-60, I peg it at 40, which is what my turbo is supposed to be wastegated at, so I guess its right.

EGT read 0-2000?? Seems fairly accurate, I can get it to 1400 on a fully loaded hard pull, idling shows about 300-350, I have it mounted post turbo.

Trans temp reads from 120??-320?? Seems to be accurate as far as what and when I expect to see. Runs 170ish cruising on the highway.

I personally care for the Autometer line of products. Having built a number of street cars requiring gauges, I've had real good luck with them. I put the boost and egt gauges in a pillar of my old '02 (I sold the one in my signature - looking at replacing with another '02 in weeks).

Autometer is a good choice, also Gafrig Gauges a lesser known manufacturer, who builds top quality stuff for the marine and high performance industry.

I have a set of the glowshift guages and the a pillar mount, I like them really well. I mounted the fuel pressure regulator incorrectly and it pettered out on me. Good quality and can't beat the price. I am replacing mine with the new Adrenaline with pulse this coming week and will be selling my old ones with mount if your interested. They are about 4 months old.

i love my ISSPROS. They were a bit pricey. BUT. You get what you pay for. And i couldnt be happier

Isspro all the way. Never had a problem in my truck, or my brothers.

My other brother (with the Common Rail) has Autometers, and his pyro only works when it wants.

1400 post turbo!!! Thats anywhere from 1700 to 1800 pre turbo. When you say you're on a loaded hard pull do you mean on a sled or towing a trailer?

I'm running post turbo for now and back down whenever I get around 1000.


FWIW I'm running ISSPRO's EV gauges, the old style. They've been great although at first one of the lights in the EGT gauge would come and go. I removed the bulb holder and bent one of the contacts so it would make better contact and haven't had a problem since.

I want to eventually move to their Performax gauges.


I also have a Westach fuel pressure gauge. Its a good gauge for the money but nothing like the ISSPRO's. My biggest complaint is the way the Westach's are lit. It has a simple bulb that casts light over the face of the gauge, no back lighting. Their combo boost/EGT gauge is neat especially if you're tight on space and cash! Westach is really big on aircraft gauges and they seem to be built really well.

I am personally running Autometer and am happy with them. The pyro and boost are 270 deg sweep, the trans temp is only 90, but that is no big issue with the smaller range.

Thanks MichealP for the explanation of one thing ISSPRO is doing different. That would make for a more accurate guage. I can see that being a big advantage in a full mod pull truck that could get very hot inside.

One gauge that I would stay away from are the Bully Dog ones. They appear to be cheap made in china crap that could be bought of ebay for a tenth the price. I have never used them myself, but that is my impression from seeing a set being installed.

Have to say, I got the Isspro boost/pyro and I'm really impressed. The quality is TOP NOTCH. The fit and finish is great and so far they work well. It's good to see a local PNW company with a killer product.

I'll be finishing out my gauge lineup with their gauges for sure.

i got the glow shift gauges.......work fine and dont need to leave em loose in the pillar pod as i was advised to easily replace the light when it goes out(they use a led).one less cab rattle. easy to read and seem to be accurate.

Just my .02 here.

I ran autometer phantoms in an old powerstroke from around 97-2003. No issues with boost or pyro. The pyro was the type that the leads from the gauge and probe hooked into a box.

On my current truck. Autometer sport comp boost, pyro, fuel pressure, and tranny.

The pyro has been replaced 2 times and the current one is on it's way out.
The tranny once.
The first fuel pressure setup was electric style and that crapped out within 7 miles. Now have the 15lb mechanical with isolator. So good so far, but the fass is slowly killing the gauge with 20lbs of fuel pressure.
Boost gauge is still the original and doing fine.

IMO...Autometer is not consistent with the types and styles of gauges compared to Isspro or Dipricol.

You cannot get a 30lb mechanical fuel pressure gauge. Not all of the gauge lines have a 60lb boost gauge.

The other 2 brands seem more angled towards the diesel market.

When I do a full guage swap out, I will be going to Isspro or Pricol.

Isspro all the way. Had mine for 2 years now and not a single problem. Great gauges.
