gas tach conversion

i think this will work for both 12v and 24v but i did a 12v so here it is you only need a phillips screw driver

remove the threee screws from the back of the tach

i got the gas cluster from my parts truck and took the cover off
i belive there is seven screws

then you can remove the tach gauge and do the same process on the diesel cluster and you can have a gas tach

That is cool! I wish it would work for the 98 and up style dash, but I'm pretty sure they are all one unit.

Why not just swap in the whole cluster? Only thing that changes would be the mileage.

Are you sure your RPMs are correct? At least on the GM vehicles, 6 and 8 cyl. tachs took different electronics, made it hard to swap clusters into our 9C1s.

They had differing resistors IIRC.

They read the same, its through the PCM. I've got a gas cluster in my 24v, its bang on to the tach on my timing light.
