G56 problems

is anyone else having problems with the G56?? i'm on my 3rd one, and the 2nd only lasted a couple thousand miles before i lost 1st and 2nd shift forks and locked up the tranny. now the current one with about 1000 miles sounds like a bearing is about to sieze up. i'm just curious if i'm the only one having problems with these.

Sure haven't had any issues with mine and I use it pretty hard! You sure don't hear of many problems with the G-56. I have the newer updated one (AE) that has the taller 6th gear. THis in in my 07 5.9. I changed out the mopar fluid immediatly to Amsoil and sure don't have any problems.

Do a search on this, I recall a post about how some of the G-56's were damaged at the factory by forklift transport..

yup, lots of g56's were damaged when they were moved around by fork lift while uncrated. dodge has had to repair thousands of leaking g56's because of this.

Haven't had any problems with the G-56. Now the stock clutch on the other hand didn't like the 35s and the Smarty on level #5...

I had similar problems when I added the Quad box, floor it in 5th or 6th gear and it would slip, added the South Bend OFE clutch and haven't had a problem since. 40,000 mi on the SB so far...

Love my G56, best truck tranny I have ever had to date.

I haven't heard of any complaints from my buddies who run them either.

I wonder what 4.10's w/G56 on stock tires would be like.... No highway time, (or limited) that's for sure!
