My brother (who is also a member on here, but I won't tell you his username) is trying to get me to believe he can hit 35psi of boost in EVERY gear, 1st-6th UNLOADED. His truck is a 2006 with the G56. Is anyone gullible enough to believe that? I'm arguing that it's impossible in 1st-3rd gear, and unlikely but plausible in 4th. I can easily believe it for 5th and 6th gear. Can anyone convince me that it is possible to hit full boost in 1st-3rd gear?

I don’t even think I’ve even seen my boost needle move off the pin in 1st gear. (Certainly not unloaded, empty).

i can get more than 20lbs in 1st gear. i have no prolems making boost in any gear, loaded or unloaded for that matter.

I’ll have to pay attention next time, my truck is closer to stock than White Ghost’s, lol. 2500 RPM is like 10 MPH in 1st, it isn’t like I’m there for long.

I never use 1st gear and dont have a spare second in 2nd gear at WOT to watch my boost gage. But in 3, 4, 5, and 6 I can have that stocker huffing 40psi no problem.

I think unloaded in 1st gear 35psi would be a hard bar to reach but I guess that depends on the truck.

If I stand on the brake and the go pedal in 4x4 I might make it. but dont think il try

Well, his truck is stock except for a Smarty and he keeps it on level 3. Now he's claiming he can make 12psi in neutral. Is this even possible?

Very possible, just feather it out and its easy, and of course riding out the clutch makes it really easy

NO Boost in neutral ever, that i have seen...
My elbow is set @ 33 psi, I can get that in 3-6 no problem.. Have only used 1st gear a couple times, also like said above "not enough time to look for boost in 2nd gear @WOT".
So your brother is full of BS

The HPCR's can make boost in N due to the very small exhaust housing. I think 5 or 6, thou I have never tried.. I don't like that many rpms without a load.

1-3 I don't think I have ever hit full boost. I know not in 1 or 2.

What is he using for a gauge? Is it including atmospheric pressure too?
