This is on my 01'.

I have never been able to fill my truck up the whole way since I got it due to a check valve (I think) at the top of the tank leaking. It hasn't been a problem until now, I am getting a water in fuel light alot of the time and I have been trying to drain it off every morning but now the drain thing isn't sealing right and I sprayed fuel all the way to work. i know how to replace the housing but what about the fuel tank stuff? What parts do I need? Where? $$$$? Any thing else I should replace since I will probably have to drop the tank while I am in there?

I assume that it's the fuel filler neck that is rusted through or maybe the hose clamps fell off.
On mine I did replace it with two pieces of hose and an elbow- I just cut the rusty part off the filler neck and went from there. I did also replace the vent part with a hose, this was simpler because the small diameter hose won't kink on the frame.

The check valve or whatever the ball thingy in there is called that keeps folks from siphoning your tank does not have an outside connection and is held by the pipe of the fuel filler neck. (It's got some "dents" there)

Another possibility where the tank can leak is the fuel tank module- on my 98.5 and some other trucks the module rusted through and leaked fuel if you filled up completely, and let water and road grime in. (And it also aerated the fuel in the suction tube to the LP)
